Untamed Northern Patagonia
Trophy Hunts Through
Thirty Thousand Acres of Hunting Grounds
Our hunting lands encompass a variety of leased properties spanning more than 30,000 acres, ensuring plenty of space for an exceptional hunting experience. Our reserved archery grounds alone cover 1,000 acres so close to the lodge that game is often sighted from our great room, but thriving populations of red stag, wild boar, and puma live within the entirety of our vast and verdant hunting lands. Rifle or archery—choose your method. Regardless of weapon or species pursued, there’s room to roam and opportunities abound in the untamed beauty of the Collón Curá Valley.
Besides game animals, the region’s almost untouched landscape teems with wildlife such as rhea (a large, flightless bird), Andean condors, guanaco, the South American gray fox, and various other species. The valley is filled with a diversity of fauna, and amid this richness of life there a sense of connection to something larger that can only be felt in the loneliest of places. Here is where the cool breeze blows down from the mountains, through clear air and high grass. Here is where you slow down, where every step and every breath can mean the difference between success and failure. Here is where your senses are revitalized, remote and removed from the stresses and distractions of modern life. Here is where you the hunter awakens with the dawn.
Red deer season runs from March 1 through May 31. But those spectacular last two weeks of March, when the valley rings with bellowing stags as they gather harems in an ancient ritual, are two weeks of pure primal magic. Spine-tingling hunts can happen anytime and anywhere, but there is no experience like the red deer rut in Patagonia.
Cunning and tenacious, wild boar can test a hunter’s patience, skills, and mettle. Come try your hand, with the help of an experienced guide, at hunting the ultimate beast from March through August.
Mountain lion, cougar, puma—they are known by many names but always respected as a stealthy and unpredictable predator. The big cats are tough to track, tough to find, and can hone a hunter’s skills like no other quarry.
If rivers full of fat, sassy pre-spawn trout along with ample opportunities for gamebirds on the wing are filling your daydreams, let us make those dreams come true in May at our one-week Cast and Blast. Large and accessible fish, thriving flocks of gamebirds, and delightful weather can be more than a fantasy. They can be your reality when you experience autumn at Tres Rios.
